The effect of feruloylated arabinoxylan mono- and oligosaccharides (FAXmo) on mammalian α -glucosidase and glucose transporters was investigated using human Caco-2 cells, rat intestinal acetone powder, and Xenopus laevis oocytes. The isolated FAXmo from wheat aleurone and corn bran were identified to have degree of polymerization (DP) of 4 and 1, respectively, by HPLC-MS.

In this context, this work focuses on the introduction o Arabinoxylan (AX)-oligosaccharides (AXOS) have been suggested to exert prebiotic effects in the gut, but their effect on colon carcinogenesis has not been studied so far. Aim of the study To test the effect of AXOS in a rat colon carcinogenesis model. 2011-02-13 · (2011). Prebiotic and Other Health-Related Effects of Cereal-Derived Arabinoxylans, Arabinoxylan-Oligosaccharides, and Xylooligosaccharides. 2020 — Arabinoxylan oligosaccharides (AXOS) are a prebiotic product that advantageously affect the activity and composition of the gut bacteria. Arabinoxylan oligosaccharides (AXOS) are considered as DF with prebiotic potential, but so far no studies have investigated their metabolic effects in humans. Thesis: Production and utilisation of prebiotic oligosaccharides - Applied Production of arabinoxylan-oligosaccharide mixtures of varying composition from rye  From wheat bran to arabinoxylan oligosaccharides (AXOS): production, demonstration of prebiotic effects, regulatory aspects and spinout creation.

Herein, a chemoenzymatic approach to artificial arabinoxylan polysaccharides with systematically altered branching patterns is described. The polysaccharides were obtained by glycosynthase‐catalyzed polymerization of glycosyl fluorides derived from arabinoxylan oligosaccharides. 2016-04-21 · Interestingly, when arabinoxylan oligosaccharides (AXOS), which has prebiotic characteristics as summarized by Broekaert et al.

While the (A)XOS metabolism of Bifidobacteriaceaehas been extensively studied, information regarding lactic acid bacteria (LAB) is still limited in this context. Upon hydrolysis of arabinoxylans by enzymes, arabinoxylan oligosaccharides are produced. Many gut microbes are capable of degrading arabinoxylans, such as lactobacilli, Bacteroides, Roseburia eubacterium, Faecalibacterium prausnitzii, Bi. animalis, and nonpathogenic clostridia (Grootaert et al., 2009). 2015-04-07 · To characterize the binding epitopes of these powerful molecular probes a library of eleven plant arabinoxylan oligosaccharides was produced by automated solid-phase synthesis.

Arabinoxylan oligosaccharides

Oligosaccharides can have many functions including cell recognition and cell binding. For example, glycolipids have an important role in the immune response. They are normally present as glycans : oligosaccharide chains linked to lipids or to compatible amino acid side chains in proteins , by N - or O - glycosidic bonds . Arabinoxylan oligosaccharides (AXOS) are considered as DF with prebiotic potential, but so far no studies have investigated their metabolic effects in humans. Arabinoxylan Oligosaccharides With Different DP Trigger Calcium Influxes in Arabidopsis In order to investigate whether pentose-based structures could be sensed by Arabidopsis, we decided to analyze in a first instance the capacity to trigger Ca 2+ influxes of different commercial polymeric structures ( Figure 2A ).

Arabinoxylan is a dietary fiber found in cereal grains such as wheat, corn, rice, rye, oat, and barley. It is used as a medicine. Arabinoxylan is taken by mouth for heart disease, constipation Arabinoxylan is the main group of hemicellulosic polysaccharides that are present in the cell walls of monocot grass crops and hence in cereal grains. The arabinoxylan polysaccharides consist of a backbone of β-(1→4)-linked xylopyranosyl residues, which carry arabinofuranosyl moieties, hence the term arabinoxylan. Arabinan, arabinoxylan and some other arabinose-containing polysaccharides release arabinose when hydrolyzed by T. reesei α-L-arabinofuranosidase (Roche et al., 1995).

Arabinoxylan is the main group of hemicellulosic polysaccharides that are present in the cell walls of monocot grass crops and hence in cereal grains. The arabinoxylan polysaccharides consist of a backbone of β-(1→4)-linked xylopyranosyl residues, which carry arabinofuranosyl moieties, hence the term arabinoxylan. Inulin-type fructans (ITF) and arabinoxylan oligosaccharides (AXOS) are broken down to different extents by various bifidobacterial strains present in the human colon. To date, phenotypic heterogeneity in the consumption of these complex oligosaccharides at the strain level remains poorly studied. To examine mechanistic variations in ITF and AXOS 2013-09-01 · Arabinoxylan-oligosaccharides (AXOS) represent a new class of candidate prebiotics. They are fragmentation products of arabinoxylans (AX), which occur in the cell wall of many cereal grains, consisting of a main chain of beta-1,4-linked D-xylopyranosyl units to which O-2 and/or O-3-L-arabinofuranosyl units are linked , , . A concise synthetic strategy has been developed for assembling densely substituted arabinoxylan oligosaccharides, which are valuable substrates for characterizing hemicellulose-degrading enzymes.
